電熔莫來石是采用工業氧化鋁、高純度石英砂為主要原料，在電弧爐中熔煉而成，結晶體為針狀，它具有熱震穩定性好，抗折強度大，荷重軟化溫度高，硬度大，高溫蠕變小等特點。被廣泛應用于耐火材料、玻璃窯體爐襯磚、莫來石磚、大型冶煉高爐熱風爐磚、高爐低蠕變硅線石磚、陶瓷窯具、匣缽、棚板、石油化工等行業。
Electrocast mullite is the used of industrial alumina, high-purity quartz sand as the main raw material, smelting in the electric arc furnace, of which the crystal is needle-like. It has good thermal shock stability, large flexural strength, high load softening temperature, large hardness, high temperature creep and so on.
